Scrabble fans around the world, rejoice! I’m excited to share that there’s a brand-new way to enjoy the world’s favorite word game: the new official Scrabble mobile app.

Developed by Scopely, the new app is built for anyone who loves Scrabble, whether you’ve been playing for decades or you’re discovering the game for the first time. It’s already available in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines, with more regions coming soon.

I’ve been involved with the project since day one, and from the very beginning, we had a simple goal: build a mobile version of Scrabble that feels true to the game we all love.

For years, many players have enjoyed Scrabble on PlayScrabble.com. As we worked on this app, we wanted to bring that same philosophy to mobile. We focused on classic gameplay, a clean design, (also available in dark mode), and features that help players improve and enjoy the game even more. If you’ve spent time playing on the website, I think you’ll find a lot here that feels familiar.

Here are a few of my favorite things about the new app.

1. Classic Scrabble comes first

Everything starts with classic Scrabble.

We deliberately kept the experience simple. There aren’t unnecessary distractions or complicated mechanics getting in the way. We wanted the gameplay itself to be the star.

Whether you’re playing friends, family, or new opponents from around the world, every game stays true to the Scrabble experience you already know.

2. Game Review

One of my favorite additions is Game Review.

Have you ever finished a game and wondered if there was a better move hiding somewhere on the board?

Now you can find out.

After every game, Game Review shows you the highest-scoring plays you missed, helping you discover new words and improve your strategy over time.

It’s one of the best learning tools we’ve ever built.

3. Daily Scrabble Puzzles

If you’ve enjoyed the Daily Puzzles on PlayScrabble.com, I’m happy to say they’ve made the jump to mobile too.

Every day you’ll find a brand-new puzzle that I’ve personally created.

Each puzzle has one move that’s clearly stronger than all the others. If you need a little help, you can reveal hints like the target score, the number of letters, or where on the board to look.

My favorite part is seeing players experience that moment when the solution suddenly clicks. Hopefully, you’ll learn something new along the way, too.

4. A Whole Team of Bot Opponents

Of course, sometimes playing against bots is exactly what you want.

Everyone has access to five different difficulty levels, while Premium players can challenge a whole collection of unique personalities with different play styles.

My personal favorite is Whoops Walter.

Walter somehow manages to find the lowest-scoring move every single turn. I’m honestly looking forward to seeing just how many points people can score against him.

5. Adventure Mode

Sometimes you don’t have time for a full game.

Adventure Mode gives you short Scrabble challenges with specific goals, like reaching 100 points or finishing ahead after only five turns.

It’s still classic Scrabble, just in a quicker format that’s perfect when you’re waiting for another game to finish.

There’s plenty more to discover, including expanded player statistics, the Social Hub where you can meet other players and connect with the community, and our upcoming real-time Ranked mode with Elo ratings.

The game is free to download and play. Premium removes ads and unlocks additional features like unlimited Game Review, exclusive bot personalities, more detailed player statistics, and, in the future, the full archive of more than 700 Daily Puzzles.

Whether you’ve spent years playing Scrabble on a board at home, on PlayScrabble.com, or you’re just picking up the game for the first time, I really believe this app captures what makes Scrabble special while making it feel right at home on mobile.

I can’t wait for more players around the world to get their hands on it.
